Jalen in the Big Tub

Jalen had been taking his baths in the kitchen sink for the last few months. But lately, he has been refusing to sit down in the sink. He also likes to splash around which makes a wet mess in the kitchen. So we decided it's time to move him to the big person tub. We fill the tub with a few inches of water, let him play with his toys while we soap him up then we shower him off. He's been loving it so much that he often doesn't want to get out of the tub.

Jalen is a Puffy Dragon

It's almost time for Halloween and we got Jalen a dragon costume. Oh boy, he didn't like it all. We struggled to get it on him.

Jalen Had a Fever

Last Sunday afternoon, Jalen started to get fussy and he felt hot to the touch. We took his temperature and he was running a fever of about 102 degrees. The poor guy was fussy and didn't want to eat. The only way to sooth him was to cuddle and let him sleep with you.

I left him sleep on me while I read a book.

Later that same afternoon, we took a nap together. It was nice... On Sunday night, he woke up screaming so we let him sleep in our bed. He was still running a fever and he'd wake up every hour saying "juice". Daddy would give him juice then he'd go back to sleep. We kept him home from daycare on Monday and Daddy took care of Jalen.

He also knows to lay down with his blanket kind of like how they take naps at daycare. Anyway, his fever is gone now. We suspect that he's experiencing this because he's teething. He's drooling like crazy, more than normal. Today he did fine at daycare so I guess he's almost all better.

Jalen goes to Alki Beach

We've been really enjoying these last days of summer in Seattle. Saturday was another beautiful, clear sunny day. We took Jalen to Alki Beach in West Seattle to enjoy the outdoors.

Jalen forgot what it was like to be on the sand. He was tentative to walk because it was hard to keep his balance on the sand.

Jalen's Playdate

Last Saturday Jalen had a play date with Katelyn and Trenton. Jalen was a little cranky for some reason but otherwise had a good time. They still don't really play together yet but they seem to get along well.

Alexa's Birthday Party

Last Saturday we went to Alexa's first birthday party. It was quite a turn out with great food and lots of kids.

Jalen wasn't too cooperative for this family picture. Alexa's house had a gorgeous backyard complete with a waterfall! It was a nice day to be outside.

Jalen's 15 Month Check up

We took Jalen to his 15 month check up on Friday, August 29th. Our existing pediatrician, Dr. Moinpour, left Pacific Medical Center to go to some clinic in Renton. I was not about to follow her to Renton because it would be too inconvenient. I did like her a lot because she is a mom herself and so I feel like she can empathize. So I tried a different doctor at Pac Med. He was friendly but it wasn't quite the same. I think I'm going to need to find a doctor on the East side so that it'd be easier to take him there from day care. Anyway, here's Jalen's 15 month stats: weight 26.4 lbs (75 - 90%), height 33.8 inches (>97%), head circumference 18.8 inches (75 - 90%). So Jalen gained about 1 lb a month over the last 3 months and grew about 2 inches.
