Jalen is starting to show that he understands a lot of what you're saying, he just can't say anything back yet! For example, we've always used "mum mum" as baby talk for food. So now, when we say "Jalen are you hungry?" he'll say "mum mum" if he is. If he's full and we ask him if he's hungry, he'll shake his head. If we offer him food and he's hungry, he'll shake his head. I've thought about starting Jalen on signing but he doesn't seem to ever copy on demand. However, he does know how to wave "bye bye" but that took him a while to learn.
