Alexa's Birthday Party

Last Saturday we went to Alexa's first birthday party. It was quite a turn out with great food and lots of kids.

Jalen wasn't too cooperative for this family picture. Alexa's house had a gorgeous backyard complete with a waterfall! It was a nice day to be outside.

Jalen's 15 Month Check up

We took Jalen to his 15 month check up on Friday, August 29th. Our existing pediatrician, Dr. Moinpour, left Pacific Medical Center to go to some clinic in Renton. I was not about to follow her to Renton because it would be too inconvenient. I did like her a lot because she is a mom herself and so I feel like she can empathize. So I tried a different doctor at Pac Med. He was friendly but it wasn't quite the same. I think I'm going to need to find a doctor on the East side so that it'd be easier to take him there from day care. Anyway, here's Jalen's 15 month stats: weight 26.4 lbs (75 - 90%), height 33.8 inches (>97%), head circumference 18.8 inches (75 - 90%). So Jalen gained about 1 lb a month over the last 3 months and grew about 2 inches.

Jalen goes to the Market

Last Saturday we took our new camera and tested it outdoors at the Pike Place Market. It turned out to be a pretty warm day considering that it was chilly all week.

Pictures with a New Camera

We're in need of a new camera. Jalen's Daddy, in his moment of brilliance, accidentally dipped our digital camera into the water when we were in Hawaii. The camera is dead. So we bought a new camera from Costco to try out. It's the Rebel something.


Jalen eating a slice of peach. He recently started drinking milk out of a sippy cup during dinner. This is very exciting! I used to have a hard time convincing him to drink milk at dinner but apparently, they drink milk at daycare so he's doing that at home now. We can finally cut out milk before bed time.

Jalen's First Family Vacation

Our whole family went to Hawaii for a week at the end of July. There were 12 of us in total, include my parents, Rick's parents and Rick's sister's family. It was a lot of fun although it wasn't totally relaxing. Jalen did pretty well on the 6 hour flight to and from Honolulu. He napped one hour each way and the rest of the time, we just did whatever we could to keep him occupied. Here's just a few pictures from our trip.
